Hours

Can we have a bar extension?

Yes, bar extensions are available on request, please confirm one month before the wedding day.

Finishing times?

Last orders at the bar are 11.30pm for carriages at 12.00 midnight. Guests are permitted to continue to use the Lounge Bar area until their taxis arrive. Our Front of House Manager can arrange taxis for guests and will continue to stay with the guests until they have all safely departed.   

Ceremonies

Do you have a noise limiter?

Our noise limiter is set at a good level of 106 dB at the dance floor (this is more than adequate). Please make your Band/ DJ aware of this prior to your wedding.

Music & Entertainment

Do you have equipment for evening entertainment?

Yes, we have loads! All of our Barns have been fitted with a full Bose sound, media and PA system with wireless microphones for speeches and multicore/ mixing desk for bands or DJs. The Timbered Barn boasts a full-screen projector and internet linked facility for your speeches. In the evening, the lighting truss with the latest 360 degree computerised special effects lighting, lasers and the most amazing LED interactive colour changing dance floor make it the best party venue ever! Your band/ DJ is able to set up after the wedding breakfast entering via the rear car park entrance so as not to interrupt your reception.

Can we choose our own music for the ceremony and wedding breakfast?

Yes, there is a Bose Ipod dock in the Redbrick Barn which accommodates ipod classic, mini and nano. The Timber Barn has a full PA system to allow you to play music both internally and externally for both  live and recorded music. We also have an extensive selection of playlists for you to use if you do not want to create your own playlist.  

Parking

Is there ample parking for guests?

Yes, we have plenty of parking for approximately 60 cars without using the fields behind the barns. When the weather is not behaving, guests can be dropped at the front door to be greeted by our front of house with umbrellas. During icy weather a complimentary valet parking service is provided.

Can vehicles be left over-night?

Yes, guests are welcome to leave their cars over-night at their own risk, however we do not allow camper vans, caravans or guests sleeping over-night in cars. CCTV operates throughout the premises to ensure security.

Alcohol & Smoking

Can guests bring their own alcohol to the wedding?

Guests are not permitted to bring alcohol onto the premises in any form, so please do not bring hip-flasks, bottles, cans or other containers with you to the wedding!  This includes drinking out the back of your car in the car park.  We operate a very strict policy where any alcohol found will be confiscated and in certain circumstances you may be asked to leave, so please do not ruin the day for a bottle of booze!  Our bar prices are local pub prices.  We carry an extensive range of alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks for guests to enjoy themselves.

We are licensed premises and have a duty of care to all our guests and are required to adhere to strict licensing laws for your health and safety.
Please do not drink and drive - we want you to get home safely!

Can we have a bar extension?

Do you take cards at the Bar?

Yes we do take debit and credit cards (excluding AMEX/DINERS) - minimum spend is £10

What are the bar prices like?

We charge local pub prices, which we feel are really reasonable and ensure bar prices aren't the topic of conversation at your wedding!

Is there a smoking area?

Guests are permitted to smoke externally and there is a heated undercover smoking area in the rear courtyard (no smoking either tobacco or vapour cigarettes is permitted within the Barns).

Facilities/Accessibility

What about if it rains?

The Barns were designed so that they work just as well on a cold rainy day as they do on a clear sunny day. The Lounge Bar area provides ample space for your reception. As well as our main Barn for Civil Ceremonies, the Redbrick Barn is also perfect for a separate reception area if arriving from one of the local churches. Come the evening it can also be used for alternative entertainment, for example a children's play area; a great space for indoor photography; a video diary room; or even a casino! 

Is there heating and air conditioning?

Yes, the Barns are underfloor heated and underfloor cooled throughout plus air conditioning using the latest Viessmann renewable energy supply. Not to mention natural fresh air from the full height glass bifold doors opening onto the gardens. There is also a lovely wood burning stove in the snug area for those colder months.

Is there somewhere to get ready before the ceremony?

Yes, our Bridal room will ensure you feel totally pampered on your wedding day. Arrival from 8.00am (earlier by arrangement with the owners), the luxury en-suite with walk in wet room is on hand for you to use throughout the day. Why not start the day with a fabulous champagne breakfast and freshly made pastries from our kitchen? - Just perfect!

Do you have disabled and baby change facilities?

Yes, the whole venue from the car park through to the barns and extensive gardens is all on one level without any steps allowing easy disabled access. Although the main toilets are upstairs there are ground level disabled toilet facilities which also accomodate a baby change area. 8 lovely little white highchairs are provided for up to two year olds. It is recommended parents bring booster seats for small children if required.

Is there a quieter area for older guests to get away from the noise of the Band/ DJ?

Yes, during the evening entertainment the glass doors to the Snug off the main Lounge Bar can be closed to provide a quiet and comfy area for older guests without them feeling excluded from the wedding party. This is one of our favourite areas with comfy sofas and the log burning stove to relax with family and friends.  

Photography

What photographic locations are available?

There are wonderful opportunities both inside and out to capture stunningly unique photographs. The Barns are nestled within five acres, including the courtyard and play lawn through to the private gardens which extend to over an acre of mature trees, shrubs, flowered borders and koi ponds.  

Guest Numbers

How many guests can you accomodate for a sit down meal?

The Timbered Barn comfortably seats a minimum of 60 guests or a maximum of 160 guests in the most elegant Philippe Stark clear Ghost chairs. Subject to availability we can also cater for small special parties and events, where the Barn can be panelled off to create a more intimate space.

Can we invite more guests for the evening?

Yes, you are welcome to invite additional guests for your evening reception, the Barns will accommodate from 100 to 200+ guests. We have parking for approximately 60+ cars. For large numbers of guests, mini buses or taxis are recommended.  

What's Included

Do you allow fireworks or Chinese lanterns?

Yes, we do allow fireworks to music through our appointed firework supplier Extra FX (www.extrafx.co.uk). Unfortunately we cannot allow Chinese lanterns or sparklers.   

Are tables and chairs included?

Yes, the catering costs include all tables (5'6 in diameter); beautiful Philippe Stark clear Ghost chairs which do not need chair covers; a wide range of coloured linen; Studio William designer cutlery; crockery; glassware and high levels of staffing i.e. 1 serving staff per table plus a senior supervisor.

Can we try the wines before confirming our selection?

Yes, we have complimentary wine tasting events twice a year for you to try our extensive selection of wines and Champagnes. Your parents are also invited, it's a really enjoyable Sunday morning in which you will also meet a lot of our recommended suppliers to help you on your planning journey.

What other decorative accessories are included?

Fairy lights in numerous areas around the Barns and courtyard; external Festoon lights in the trees and lawn areas; garden oil burning torches; bay trees; olive trees; crystal trees and other decorative trees for entrance and Redbrick Barn; black candelabras in the ceremony room; for the wedding breakfast, in addition to colour co-ordinated linen of your choice we provide 40cm round table centre mirrors; clear glass tea light holders; clear decorative beads; chrome table number stands; 3 architectural easels for table plans (A1 or larger); candle storm lanterns internally and externally and anything else we may have!

What's Not Included

What's not included in the exclusive use hire of the Barns?

The only things you need to bring include your stationery, such as table names; seating names and table plan, favours if you are having them (no alcoholic favours please), and your table centres. The beautiful grounds, gardens and coloured wall uplighters do the rest of the work for you.  

Decorations

Do you provide anything at the entrance to the Barns on the wedding day itself?

Yes, we provide a rustic blackboard with coloured balloons to match your wedding day theme free of charge.

Do you allow candles and nightlights around the barns?

Yes, candles are allowed throughout the wedding reception with suitable candle holders. Lanterns and oil burning torches are also provided by the Barns creating a magical atmosphere. Festoon lights are artfully hung illuminating the trees and garden areas. There are lots of fairy lights internally and externally to add extra twinkle!

Is there a charge for setting up the ceremony room, sweet trollies or any other personal touches?

There is no charge for setting up your ceremony room as per your instructions with either a central or gable end layout. Any decorative accessories you want to provide are set up for you, even if you want to provide your own sweet table with jars and scoops, these will be set up for you during the wedding breakfast at no extra charge.

Do you allow confetti?

Yes, the bride and groom are permitted to supply fresh/ dried confetti to their guests which can be purchased online at (www.shropshirepetals.com or www.confettidirect.co.uk) or better still raid your own garden for lovely fresh petals! The Barn provides confetti baskets if required. Confetti may be thrown on arrival from the church; as you leave the Brick Barn following your ceremony or externally for a larger group shot. Please remind guests not to bring their own confetti.  

Can we drop off decorations and personal items prior to the wedding day?

Yes, we suggest you bring any non-perishable decorations such as table plans and favours etc and any items for the bridal party to get ready in advance of the day (to be discussed with the owners). Perishable items such as the wedding cake or flowers should be bought on the morning of the wedding to ensure they are in perfect condition.

Food & Drink

Do you have a cake stand and cake knife?

Yes, our catering team, Morgans Catering are able to provide a beautiful cake knife. Cake stands are usually provided through the cake supplier or can be hired through Morgans on request.

Can you supply examples of suggested menus along with prices?

Our award winning caterers offer bespoke, totally flexible and seasonal wedding breakfast menus with all the foods you love. 

All menus include a wide range of coloured linen; Studio William designer cutlery; crockery; glassware; and high levels of staffing i.e. 1 serving staff per table plus a senior supervisor. We do not have any packages at Redhouse Barn and therefore you have the flexibility to offer your guests a choice of menus if you wish.

Is there an option of bringing in our own caterers?

Unfortunately not. We have one of the best catering teams in the country at Redhouse Barn, who are able to supply award winning cuisine from foods around the world to traditional English cuisine at the very highest levels. You have the flexibility to design your own menus with chef Anthony Morgan; to offer a choice of menus to your guests and to personalise your guests' menus to the extent that they will be asked how they want their prime cuts of lamb or beef cooked on the day. Can we supply our own wine?

Yes, you may bring your own wine for reception drinks and wedding breakfast where a corkage charge will apply. You will still be invited to a complimentary wine tasting to sample our extensive wines and champagnes which are competitively priced. Additionally, all wine for the wedding breakfast is sale or return, so you only pay for what you use.

Can we have a mixture of drinks for our reception and wedding breakfast?

Yes, we don't have any drinks packages either so you have the flexibility to offer your guests wines and or beer or any other tipple you fancy. We can also provide jugs of soft drinks or punches for guests who are not drinking.

Can we have cocktails?

Yes, cocktails are a popular addition for your wedding guests after the wedding reception, please discuss with Morgans.

Can we have a guest ale?

Yes, Morgans have access to a really good selection of real ales, which can be supplied in 36 pint pins or 72 pint kegs currently at £3.40 per pint. We don't like wasting beer so please ensure your guests drink the barrel dry! (or you will be charged for any unused beer if we do not have a wedding the following day). The bar also stocks bottled Bathams; Mad Goose; UBU; Purity Gold and Veltins. For lovers of Guinness we have surger Guinness and lagers on draught along-side an extensive collection of beers, ciders, shots and spirits.

How many canapes do you suggest?

We recommend a minimum of 4 canapes per person, however this can be altered depending on wedding timings and budget.

Can you cater for guests who are vegetarian or have food allergies?

Yes, during the menu designing process with Anthony you will also design a delicious vegetarian option for your guests. It is important that you ask your guests in advance about any dietary requirements so the caterers can accommodate these.

Do you have food options available for children?

Yes, here at Redhouse Barn we class children as between 2-10 years (there is no charge for under 2 years). We can either provide as smaller portion of the main wedding breakfast for a reduced price or we can also provide their own menu which will again be created during your meeting with the caterers. If you have a large number of children we can also arrange for them to have their own tea party in the Redbrick Barn complete with a wedding Creche service if required. (www.ciccionas.com)

Should we provide our contractors with a meal?

Please check with your contractors terms and conditions to see if you need to provide them with food and drink, it's not unusual for us to provide your contractors such as photographers/ musicians with a hot meal, which is eaten in the Lounge Bar for a reduced price as they will be with you all day. Bands will normally eat from the evening food options.

What options are there for evening food?

There is an extensive selection of evening food available from circulated 'street style' bowl food and hot savoury snacks; pizzas, fish and chips from £8.00pp to barbecues from £12.00pp and cheese and pate tables. We hate queuing, so circulated snacks are a great choice!! These options are developed and designed with you, incorporating any themes or ideas you may have. Similarly if you want to have half circulated bowl food and a smaller cheese table we can definitely come up with something special.

Can we try the food before our wedding day?

Yes, we hold food tastings at the Barns normally at times to suit in the spring, autumn and winter seasons arranged though Morgans Catering. These carry a small charge for a minimum of four guests and are a lovely opportunity to try all three courses of your chosen Wedding Breakfast, giving you freedom to try the different ideas you may have had and make any changes. The food tasting gives you loads of confidence in the quality of the food you will have on your wedding day.   

Transport

Do you have contacts for taxis, mini buses and coaches?

Yes, we have good reliable, competitively priced companies who regularly look after our guests e.g an 8 seater mini bus to Holiday Inn Express is £8.00. Please contact the venue for details. Taxis can be ordered by our front of house manager on the day, for non-local residents it is recommended you book your own local taxi.

Insurance

Is it recommended to take out wedding insurance?

Yes, it is always a good idea to consider taking out wedding insurance, which can be as little as £60.00 this will cover you for lots of eventualities such as accidents, your suppliers going out of business etc (google wedding insurance for options).

Are the Barns insured?

Yes, the Barns are fully covered for commerical building and public liability (guests are responsible for any willfull damage done to the Barns or its contents). Full details are in the booking terms and conditions.

Children

Is the venue child safe?

Yes, the rear lawn play area is fully child safe and we provide giant garden games including connect 4; Jenga and squashy footballs and goals to keep our energetic little guests entertained. The private gardens which may be used by the bride and groom during the day for photographs does have extensive water features where children must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian. The private gardens are closed in the evening for guests, but the bride and groom can still use the area for romantic evening shots.  

Other

Will you be carrying out viewings on my wedding day?

No, the only people at the Barns during your wedding day are our staff and your guests and contractors i.e. florists. We do not do any viewings on wedding days. When we say exclusive use, we mean it!

Where can guests leave coats and presents?

There is an easily accessible cloakroom off the main Lounge Bar area. The Master of Ceremonies will ensure gifts and cards are moved to a secure room for safe keeping during the day and over-night.

Can I bring my dog?!

Yes! Dogs are welcome to be a part of the wedding reception and photographs as we know they are one of the family! This can be arranged through my lovely sister Anne and her special dog sitting service. Anne provides a brilliant service with 24 hour personal attention, love, care, walks and cuddles on her sofa! She can take up to 3 dogs at her secure home and gardens in Droitwich throughout the day and night. Anne will collect and deliver them from the Barns before and after the wedding. She is fully insured and your pet will be in skilled and loving hands!  This is a 24hr baby sitting service for your dogs with transport to the Barns if your dog is required as a ring bearer or for photos.  Sorry we do not permit other dog-sitters at the Barns.  Please contact Anne : (annematthissen01@sky.com)

What methods of payment do you accept and when are they required?

To confirm the exclusive use hire of the Barns for your wedding, a 50% non refundable deposit for the venue paid by BACS or cheque with the relevant booking forms will secure your date. A date can be held provisionally for 2 weeks without obligation to enable you to review information and check your wedding ceremony etc prior to the booking forms being sent out. Once booking forms are sent out, payment and return of the forms is required after a further 2 weeks. The balance for the venue hire is required 2 months prior to the wedding day. The catering deposit is payable to Morgans Catering For You Ltd. the year before the wedding or after your meeting with Chef Anthony, with the food balance based on your confirmed guest numbers 2 weeks before the wedding. The table wine is sale or return and is charged after the wedding depending on what you've actually used up to the limits you have agreed, this is taken our of your original deposit and adjusted accordingly.

It is recommended that couples consider wedding insurance. www.compareweddinginsurance.org.uk or similar.
